The School Sisters of St. Francis are an international Franciscan
community of more than 1,000 sisters and associates serving in educational, prayer, healing, social and pastoral ministries in Europe, Latin America, India and the United States. We were founded in 1874 in Wisconsin and our international offices are located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA.

Our mission is to witness to the Good News of Jesus Christ and the presence of the reign of God as we enter into the lives and needs of people, especially those who are poor.

The delegates to the 2010 General Assembly set the following Congregational Direction for 2010-2014:

We commit ourselves to be instruments of peace. We live that peace within community and in collaboration with others in a multicultural world. This commitment calls us to constant personal conversion.

We invite you to learn more about us, and to join us on our journey of conversion, service and solidarity by browsing our web site.
